An Initiative of Food Safety and Nutrition
Safety and Health are two sides of the same coin, possessing equal significance in determining the overall quality of the food. The importance of nutrition for children cannot be overlooked.
The project ‘Poshan’ is directed and was initiated to address this very cause and deliver direct training to the children accompanied by their teachers and parents. Nutrition and safety begin first at home and then at school where the child spends most of his day and hence, the volunteers of ‘Poshan’ are dedicated to educating the children primarily with the modules prepared after gaining the prior understanding of the current food safety situation.
Food Safety @ICDS
Under this program/ initiative we conduct interactive training sessions for Anganwadi workers and the student’s family on Food safety, hygiene and nutrition. We provide food safety guidelines and also cost-effective plans. We train people, enabling them to understand malnutrition thereby, ensuring prevention through timely detection of the symptoms before they aggravate and cause any harm to the human life. Prevention is at the core of our mission.
Food Safety @MDM
An initiative by Government, Mid-Day Meal Scheme aims at increasing the education rate among the rural and municipal schools by providing a one-time meal to the students and thereby encouraging children to attend school. The volunteers of ‘Poshan’ work with school MDM supervisors and food handlers & educating them on good hygiene/ manufacturing practices (GHP/GMP).
